Speed.
Speed is a vital component of all sports, speed gives you the edge, it gives you time and it gives you control. At 19, Christian Malcolm was the fastest junior athlete in the world, throughout his career he has been coached and worked alongside the best in the world.
Agility.
Agility enables you to move with athleticism; you can react, make decisions fast at pace, and, if your agility is harnessed, you can be explosive in all directions. When combined, speed and agility will create a powerful force in all sports.
Technique.
Technique is vital. When you achieve a fluid technique, you will limit injury, hit top speed quickly and maintain this speed using less energy for longer, enabling you to perform throughout your game as your opponents fatigue.

At Christian Malcolm Sports Academy, we produce and deliver pure speed based programmes for all sporting individuals and teams globally.

The Xtra Yard is a specialised coaching programme for young people designed to improve speed in all competitive sports. It focuses on sprinting technique which enables you to run efficiently, delaying fatigue, preventing injury and is suitable for anyone looking to excel individually or in team sports. As well as athletes, many successful rugby and football players use the programme to gain the important ‘extra yard’ over the competition.
We aim to ensure every child understands the key factors of speed. If they understand it, it is easier for them to create and deliver it on the pitch, court or track.

Gethin has just completed his 3rd extra yard and I can’t recommend this course enough. The improvement in Gethin’s running style and speed would have been enough to keep me coming back, but the attitude, commitment of the coaches and how they engage with children makes it a must for me. I was so impressed with structure of the course and how much fun my son has we started to participate in the Saturday family sessions from the start of the year, I’m not expecting to become an Olympian but the sessions have become the highlight of my training week.
